Hello!
I’m a McGill University ‘20 graduate (Honours Mechanical Engineering with minor in Physics).
I will be heading to MIT in the Fall to pursue research at the intersection of nonlinear plasma dynamics and quantum computation.
5+ years of research experience
Be it designing and manufacturing a hyper-velocity launcher or studying quasar emission spectra or numerically investigating plasma in fusion reactors, I have been exposed to a wide variety of fields and have seen them from different perspectives.
7+ years of teaching experience
Teaching is an art, one that I have indulged in for a good portion of my life. At university, I have been a teaching assistant for numerous courses such as mechanics, advanced calculus, and numerical methods.
“Abtin was probably the best TA you could put for this class. His examples were very helpful and his teaching method helped us learn much better than lectures.”
— MATH 262 (Intermediate Calculus) Student
“He chose good examples and relevant problems to teach us the material and tried to choose problems that would cover all the topics we are required to know. He explained things clearly and coherently. He went through the solutions methodically and always explained why each step was made. Provided us with a midterm review outside tutorial hours which was really appreciated.”
— MATH 264 (Advanced Calculus) Student
“Abtin's tutorial was very helpful to understand the concepts of the course. I find he is more clear and explains better than my professor.”
— MATH 262 (Intermediate Calculus) Student
“He came prepared to tutorials even when dealing with lots of work, posted his notes online, answered questions online, explained concepts intuitively and well. Honestly, I do not know how he could improve. He is doing really well.”
